Julius Levy Obituary

LEVY, JULIUS "JC", 84, of Louisville, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008. He was a World War II veteran, retired from the U.S. Postal service and was also a retired worker at Churchill Downs, where he sold and cashed para-mutual tickets. He was a member of Congregation Adath Jeshurun and B'nai Brith. He is survived by his wife, Catherine "Baba" Levy; two sisters-in-law, Dot Pollei (Ott) and Barbara Smoot (Charlie); brother-in-law, Murriel Flesch (Dorothea); and three nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Herman Meyer & Son in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Congregation Adath Jeshurun or donor's favorite charity.

Our deepest condolences go out to you at this time. We've known JC as far back as I can remember, through bowling, Adath Jeshurun, the JCC, Anshei Sfard, and so on. He was always an upbeat individual, and I smile as I remember how he tried to make me more frum. May his memory be for a blessing.
