Big G was always there for me, from the time he brought my oldest son home from the hospital, helped me get 25 years of government service, to getting my youngest son a job. He will always be in our hearts. Love Linda, Anthony and Andre'.

Deepest condolences to Leonard Gray's family and many friends. He was a loving, kind gentleman who will be missed. For almost eight years I saw his friendly face in our offices in the Kentucky State Capitol. Leonard always had a laugh and a pleasant hello to share with all! No doubt he is sharing that same positive attitude in a far better place!

To the family I send my heartfelt condolences, be encouraged and may you have peace in knowing that your loved one was a mentor and a role model who touched and effected many lives. Leonard was a true political pioneer, a man of exceptional brilliance, great character, dignity, intergity, and finesse, an individual who truly made a difference in the future of many. His style, class and impressionable demeanor set him apart, putting him in a class of his own.

He was a phenomenal caring man with great political attributes; he has completed his term in office here on earth, and has been elected to serve in the highest office with our Heavenly Father, now ready to receive great rewards in Heaven for a life well lived!

There is one thing that is certain and that is change, the Lord has changed the office in which Leonard shall now serve eternally!

To be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord.

I will miss Leonard as I do my own brother.

You were dearly loved and will be greatly missed, your earthly work is done, rejoice in Heaven.

My Prayers are with the Gray Family! I've known Lenny for what seems like years. He came by often when I was a youngster to see my Dad, for printing and just for a friendly visit. If I had to guess what the after life is like, I would say that Lenny is drinking a beer with his friends watching a heated UofL game. What I will remember about him most is one of the thinks that made him a "One of a Kind" type of man. As a child I only knew him as "The Boe Tie Guy".

......"Lenny, I bid you not farewell, but till we meet again my good friend."

To the Gray Family, I send my deepest sympathy to you at this time of sorrow. Leonard was so very, very special to my family, countless others and me. It is but for his wisdom, mentorship and guidance that each of our lives changed. "There is no safer feeling than the comfort of sheltering from life's storms in the harbor of friendship." Leonard you will forever be loved and missed – L’Tanya, Linda, Craig Jr., Kim and Sharmane. When you see Junie Carroll tell him TT Martan says hello.

Denise and Debra, You know that I have been praying for you and your family through these trials. It is hard to believe that you have come again to this place of sorrow so soon. Words cannot express what I feel in my heart for you at this time but I know God knows what is best. Leonard and Anita are in a better place than this world could offer them now. You will see them on the other side of life one sweet day. May God's love and blessings be upon you and your family.

I will miss Lennie as I would a brother, but I know now he is upstairs with Jim Burke, Bill Stansbury and other good friends....When I first went to work for the city in '74, Lennie who was then assistant personel director helped me survive in an unfriendly environment. We stayed good friends, and when he ran for state rep., I finally got an opportunity to repay his kindness by taking care of his printing for him. I was fortunate to speak to him the day he came from the hospital and was heading over to Indiana to recover. I know where you are Lennie....save me a good spot up there buddy. Bob

My deepest sympathy to Leonard's family. I will always be grateful for his friendship during our years working together in the Patton administration. For me Leonard was a generous gentleman, a confidant, a political mentor and a fellow west-ender. I will miss him.
