I was so sad to hear of his death. Yet I know he was so loved and cared for by his wonderful daughters and their families. He will be missed in this world. My heart goes out to his daughters.

I met Mr. Whitlock while I was attending Brown Mackie Louisville and graduated at the age of 50. Mr. Whitlock and I have kept in touch over the past few years. He was such a believer in our Lord. He and I have had numerous discussions before and after classes. He was such a Ahmazing human being and always wanted to see people happy. He gave more support than any other professor I had. He had such a "golden heart!" Always willing to take time for any student in need even if only a few minutes. He was such a great leader, the most positive person I've ever crossed paths with and he always gave me inspiration. Lee Whitlock, you will forever be missed and I think of you quite often. I will see you again one day my dear friend!

Lee was a gentle soul. He had an ability to accept things as they came along in his life and calmly accept life as it unfolded. I cherish the times we had together, listening, talking, and sharing our views on many issues we both cared about. When I was around him he had a positive view of life that was contagious . He stood up for the things he believed in and was not afraid to express them in gentle manor. He is missed now and will be in the future.

Lee and I met when we joined an exclusive club (Multiple Myeloma) and joined an online support group, PatientsLikeMe. We met in person several times, when he came to California to visit his friends, Dan and his wife. I had a Meet and Greet luncheon with other Southern California - PatientsLikeMe and Invited Lee and Dan to join us. He was the life of the party and made many friends. He mentioned his daughters many times. He was very proud of you! When I came to Kentucky on vacation a couple of years ago to visit my son Lee drove to Elizabethtown, about an hour away to take me to lunch and then we went to The Lincoln’s Museum and Birthplace. It was such a fun day and one I will always remember. I enjoyed Lee’s quotes and Inspiration and his great sense of humor. I will miss him! RIP My Friend. You have earned your Angel Wings! Love, Marcia Holman

Lee was a minister, pastor, mentor, counselor, and such an inspirational friend! He did so much for my family the Lagles while he was in Cooleemee but he continued to counsel me and be a close friend to lend an ear and give advice through the years when I needed it most. He came back to Cooleemee to marry my husband and me in 1997 and wouldn’t let me pay him or even pay for his room. He was family!!! Needless to say I loved him with all my heart and he knew I did. He was an amazing man that will be missed deeply. Prayers to Courtney and Jenny.

I had not seen Lee in many years, but kept up with him on social media and through my mom. He was a great friend of our family as he went to high school with my mom. In addition, he officiated my sister's wedding. I always looked forward to his Facebook posts whether quotes, stories or documenting his long and courageous battle with illness. Through it all, he always remained positive and still had that amazing smile. I'm truly thankful he is not in pain any longer and knowing he did it his way the whole time. We have another angel among us now. Fly high... My thoughts are with his beloved family.

Mr. Lee was one of a kind! I was blessed enough to have his class at Brown Mackie College! He pushed me out of my comfort zone by making me public speak on a business proposal I created. Mr. Lee left a mark on me that I will never forget! He sent me a quote not long ago, “ No bird soars too high of he soars with his own wings”! I will forever cherish my time with him if it was only a semester.
