Lois Domeck Obituary

DOMECK, LOIS MARIE VANCAMPEN, 78, of Louisville, died March 12, 2005, at Norton Hospital. Born on December 14,1926, the daughter of the late Arthur Lyndon VanCampen and Hilda Marie Friedmann VanCampen, she grew up in Louisville. In 1944 she married Adolph John "Junie" Domeck Jr. , who preceded her in death on November 15, 1995. Lois and her husband were both actively involved in the formation and evolution of The de Paul School in its early years of the 1970s. Mr. Domeck was the first Chairman of The Board for The de Paul School, and for a number of years, Lois was the director of the tutoring program at the school. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Leo Edward VanCampen. Lois is survived by two daughters, Lois Gail Domeck Lawson-Gray and her husband, Larry D. Gray, Linda Lee Domeck Cambron and her husband, J. Louis Cambron Sr. and her son Stephen Arthur Domeck, all of whom cared for her; four grandchildren , Joseph L. Cambron Jr., June Marie Cambron Wessel, William Adolph Lawson and April Gail Lawson; and three great grandsons, whom she loved dearly, Cambron Joseph Wessel, Colton Edwin Wessel and A. J. Cambron. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church,747 Harrison Ave., where both Lois and her husband were parishioners for more than 46 years. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, with a gathering to follow at the church. Friends and family may visit from 2-8 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2005, at Highlands Family Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Memorial gifts may be made to The de Paul School in Louisville or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

I was so sorry to learn of Lois' passing. We worked together at the front desk at Cardiovascular Associates. She was a very sweet lady who loved every member of her family dearly. She talked about each one of you and shared lots of family pictures. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
