PRESQUE ISLE: Lucy J (Smith). Colby, 83 died Tuesday morning June 28, 2011 at a local health care facility. She was born on May 23, 1928 in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Paul C. and Leah J. (Johnson) Smith. She is survived by her husband Ben A. Colby Jr. of Presque Isle, a daughter Paula Barrett and her husband Sam of Presque Isle, two granddaughters, Samantha McDorr of Buxton, and Leah Drost of Presque Isle, 5 great grandchildren. There will be no services at this time. Donations may be made in her memory to the Central Aroostook Humane Society 26 Cross St. Presque Isle, ME. 04769. Dear Bud, Paula and family, I was saddened to hear about the passing of Lucy. We were reminiscing during Heritage Days and her name was mentioned. Although he is gone now, I can safely say that George and I valued the Colbys among our friends. My heart goes out to all of you as you mourn the loss of your wife, mother, and grandmother.
