Maxwell Stringfield Obituary

STRINGFIELD, MAXWELL RAY "MAX," 73, of Louisville, who was a loving husband and father, passed away suddenly at home Tuesday, October 14, 2008. He was a retired employee of American Synthetic Rubber Corp. where he worked 45 years, past president of United Rubber Workers Union Local 423, a 51 year member of Shively Masonic Lodge 951, a Shriner and a member of Mosaic United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond E. Stringfield. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce Carter Stringfield; daughters, Cynthia and Deborah Stringfield; his mother, Ina Mae Stringfield, of Richardsville, KY; two sisters, Alice Perkins (John), of Bowling Green, KY and Joy Stringfield Lewis, of Louisville; several nieces, nephews; and many friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, KY. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday. To Joyce and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Max. I know he was looking forward to watching his CARDS play this year. I would love to see him walking his dogs every day. The neighborhood will not be the same without him. You are in our prayers.
