Melvin Perlman

PERLMAN, MELVIN, Ph.D, 81, died Friday, November 17, 2006. He was a graduate of the University of Chicago, with a Ph.D in psychology, former chief of psychology at Illinois State Psychiatric Institute and staff psychologist at Veteran Administration Hospital in Downey, IL. He was a veteran of World War II, and beloved husband of the late Miriam (Goodman) Perlman. He was the cherished father of Sheri Weyhing (Jeff); loving "gampa" of Brandon and Krista; dear brother of Eddie (the late Elka) and the late Shirley (Ernie) Jacob; fond uncle; and friend to many. Dr. Perlman was laid to rest Monday in Chicago, IL next to his wife of 51 years. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Herman Meyer & Son, 1338 Ellison Ave. in celebration of his distinguished life and career.
