Robert Musselman Obituary

Musselman, Robert Gifford "Buzzy",

75, of Louisville, passed onto his Heavenly family on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Jefferson Place.

Born in Louisville on January 31, 1941 to the late Elaine Gifford and David Shelley Musselman, Sr., he was the best cheerleader of the Musselman family. Although he was intellectually disabled, Buzz knew how to teach the highest priorities in life: respect and unconditional love. Everyone was equal in his world. Buzzy's first greeting to anyone who came into contact with him was, "You my friend?"; "When you come back to see me?" He was youthful in spirit and genuinely friendly to one and all. The amount of love he left behind is immeasurable.

Buzzy is survived by siblings, Anne Lee Blair (Dave), Thomas Anthony Musselman, Sr. (Barbara), David Shelley Musselman, Jr., Elaine "Cissy" Musselman, and William Austin Musselman, Sr. (Shannon); and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the many wonderful caregivers at Stewart Home School in Frankfort, KY, Baptist Hospital, and Jefferson Place in Louisville, with eternal gratitude to Bianca Orapesa, his caregiver for over 12 years.

A celebration of his life will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 1, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi, 1938 Alfresco Place with visitation to follow. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Harbor House, (2231 Lower Hunters Trace, Louisville, KY, 40216) a 501 © (3) dedicated to empower developmentally disabled individuals and their families to lead fulfilled and productive lives.

Cissy, in our Greek Orthodox Church, there is a saying that goes " May his memory be eternal." Never having met Buzzy but hearing about how special of a man he was as well as a friend to so many, I am confident that his memory will be eternal. Know that you and your wonderful Family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God's grace and compassion comfort you all today and always. We love you all. Shane and Stefi Taylor and Family.

Buzzy was my best friend. I going to remember him for ever because when a friend gone, it leaves an empty space that can not be filled with the arrival of another friend. He left a space in my heart that nobody can ever fill. I love you Buzzy.

Thank you for sharing your brother with us. He was and forever remains the heart of the facility (JP). For 3 yrs Buzzy has truly impacted my life and not just mine, but everyone's. He was such an amazing man. Bringing so much joy into others lives. Never meeting a stranger. It was a guarantee that if you didn't know Buzzy before you walked it, that you would know who he and Blanca was before you left. ♡
