Anna, I only met your Mom that one day at the fair. I could tell that she was one special person. I just want to say she did a terrific job of raising you, as you are a fine young lady and I am proud to say that you are my BFF! I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers go out to you and your family. My love always.

We met when we were both patients at Kosair Hosp. We were both 12 years old and had much in common. Even though we lived miles apart we often were in the hospital at the same time and never lost touch. She was my best friend. She could always make me laugh and between the two of us, we drove the nurses nuts! I will miss her emails and will always miss her just being there. I know what it's like to deal with polio and all its effects but her struggles were greater than mine. It is comforting to know that she is now at peace and oh the freedom of being able to run -- and in her case fly -- around heaven! Although her children will miss her, she will live forever in the wonderful memories she must've left them.

Ms. Beattie was full of life. She always had a smile and time to talk. Generous to a tee; I am so glad she was a part of my life. Thankfully she has passed her kindness and humor on to her girls so she will live on through them and in our memories.

The strongest woman I ever knew- an inspiration to even those she never met. She always kept a smile and positive attitude even through a rougher life than many of us could imagine. I'm proud to call her mom.
I love you and miss you.
