Thomas R. Sams Sr.

SAMS, THOMAS R. SR., 85, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Baptist Hospital East. He was a native of Bridgeville, PA. Thomas was a member of Saint Michael Orthodox Church. He was the retired golf course superintendent at Audubon Country Club, a lifetime member of Kentuckiana Golf Course Superintendents Association, Kentuckiana Turf Grass Council and U.S.G.A. He was preceded in death be his wife of 55 years, Emily Meena Sams. Mr. Sams is survived by his children, Leslie Fuller (Gill), Thomas R. Sams Jr., Andrea Theresa Sams and Susan Bisig (Joseph); and three grandchildren, Aaron, Paul and Adriane Fuller. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Michael Orthodox Church, Hikes Lane & Furman Blvd., with entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Ratterman & Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. A Trisagion prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Saint Michael Chapel Fund or Saint George Cemetery Fund, Bridgeville, PA.
