Walter Pitts Obituary

PITTS, WALTER C.,78, of Louisville, died Friday January 6, 2006 at the VA Medical Center. He was a retired industrial designer for General Electric Corporation, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church. He is survived by sons, Tim and Jeff Pitts; a sister, Adrienne Lund of Chagrin Falls, OH; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Broughton, Brian Pitts and William Pitts. His funeral service will be held on noon Monday, January 9, 2006, at Pearson's , 149 Breckenridge Lane, with a private burial in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

All of us who worked with Walt will remember him for his talent, his ability to always surprise us with how quickly he would execute very creative work and his wit and humor. He was a good man that I'll never forget.

Walt was one of the most gifted artists to be a part of the Industrial Design Operation at GE's Appliance Park. He showed his work at the local art shows and was well known. He also was a talented Industrial Designer with a special ability to illustrate his work. He will be missed.
