Albert Richard Obituary

Albert J. Richard Lowell, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; 100 LOWELL Albert J. Richard, age 100, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died Wednesday morning, November 28th 2007 at his home, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family He was the husband of the late Florina (Baillargeon) Richard for 48 years. Born in Lowell, on June 26, 1907 he was a son of the late Pierre and Emma (Milette) Richard. He was a parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d'Arc Church, and more recently a communicant of the Parish of St. Rita. Mr. Richard was employed by the United Elastic Corporation, as superintendent of the Lowell plant and Corporate Director of Research and Development for 45 years. He had been issued four patents for his innovations and equipment designs. After one year of retirement, Mr. Richard was called upon to assist in the closing of the Littleton plant. He then continued working for the new owners of the building for 35 years until his final retirement at age 98. He enjoyed building fieldstone walls on his properties, woodworking and in later years making clocks, lamps and various items out of corian material. Surviving him are two daughters and two sons-in-law, Mrs. Irene Moisan and her husband, Donald of Lowell, and Mrs. Pauline Carignan and her husband, Ronald of Lowell; a son and daughter-in-law, Albert R. and Eva (Rysava) Richard of Coupville, WA; five grandchildren, Dolores (Moisan) Kuzirian and her husband, John of Dracut, Richard Moisan and his wife, Susanne of Hamburg, Germany, Donald Carignan and his wife, Karen of Tyngsboro, Diane (Carignan) Lefebvre of Dracut, and Kenneth Carignan and his wife, Christine of Lowell; 12 great-grandchildren, Jamieson Marcotte, Kerry Marcotte, Stephen Marcotte, Amanda Moisan, Christopher Carignan, Jenna Carignan, Kasey Lefebvre, Daniel Lefebvre, Timothy Lefebvre, Conor Carignan, Ian Carignan, and Emma Carignan; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late William, Frederick, Arthur and Charles Richard, Yvonne Boucher, Alice Larose, and Florence Richard. RICHARD Albert J. Richard, age 100, of Lowell, died Nov. 28th 2007. Friends may call at the ROLAND W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 308 Pawtucket Street, Lowell on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. ATTENDANT PARKING. Funeral Monday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 o'clock in the Parish of Saint Rita Church, Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
