Loving Mother and Grandmother
WESTFORD Ann Elizabeth (O'Loughlin) Castellano, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, December 14, 2009 at the Westford House Nursing Home. Ann was the wife of the late Anthony Castellano.
Ann was born in Lowell on August 5, 1934, a daughter of the late William and Marie McCluskey) O'Loughlin. She was educated in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Ann was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church. She was employed for many years as a nursing assistant and a private duty nurse in the Lowell area.
Ann was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and worked to promote patriotism within her community and raise money for educational advancement.
She also had an interest in genealogy. She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary in Lowell.
Ann enjoyed shopping and collecting antiques. She also loved her dogs.
Surviving Ann are her four children, Pamela Lefebvre of Lowell, Patricia Hackney and her husband Paul of Lawrence, Brian Witts and his wife Jeannine of Dracut, and Kelly Walsh and her husband Robert of Dracut, a sister, Bernadette Lockeby of Illinois, six grandchildren, Laura Lefebvre of Lawrence, Bryan Robson of Lowell, Brianna, Jaclyn and Daniel Witts of Dracut, and Kristen Walsh of Dracut, one great-grandson, Stephen Mercurio, Jr. of Wakefield, and many nieces and nephews. Ann was also the sister of the late Mary Brodeur and her husband Ernest Brodeur, her two best friends, and Helene Martin.
CASTELLANO In Westford, Dec. 14, 2009. Ann E. (O'Loughlin) Castellano, 75, a longtime Lowell and Dracut resident. It being Ann's request, private family services will be held. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ann's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
