During World War II, he served in Company I of the 103rd Infantry Division, and earned medals and ribbons for campaigns in Europe and the Pacific.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Paone worked as an agent for MetLife in Greater Boston.
He was a communicant of St. William's Church and a member of the Beachmont (Revere) Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and John Fitzgerald of Wilmington; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Lisa (Mintz) Paone of Jericho, Vt.; two sisters, Mary Miano of Melrose and Grace Dell of Ipswich; three grandchildren, Joseph Fitzgerald, Alex Paone and Taylor Paone; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Paul Paone.
