Antoinette Woldan Obituary

Antoinette A. 'Tonie' Woldan longtime Stamford, CT resident; 90 CHELMSFORD, MA Antoinette Amler "Tonie" Woldan, age 90, a longtime resident of Stamford, CT, died peacefully on October 20, 2007, at Sunny Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chelmsford, MA. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Fred Woldan. Born November 28, 1916, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Jaroslav Amler and Antonie Novak Amler. Mrs. Woldan graduated from Stamford High School in 1933, trained as a secretary, and worked for a local stockbroker for several years. She was cheerful, considerate and generous, and highly regarded by all who knew her. Tonie enjoyed gardening and watching the birds and butterflies that were attracted to her extensive flower garden, as well as many handicrafts including braiding rugs, sewing, and other needlework. She taught piano, canvassed for charities and enjoyed world travel with her husband. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and his wife, Sandy (Cogan) of Perth, Australia, and Richard and his wife, Karen (Larsen) of Chelmsford, MA; two daughters, Barbara Woldan of San Diego, and Marjorie Woldan of Chelmsford; her sister, Mary Lindsay of Wicomico, VA; six grandchildren, Paul, Tanya, Alana, Alexa, Jeffrey and Kristina Woldan; as well as many nieces and nephews. WOLDAN Antoinette Amler "Tonie". Friends and relatives will meet on Friday, October 26 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien followed by a Burial service at 11:30 AM at Spring Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Luke's LifeWorks, Attn: Development Office, 141 Franklin St., Stamford, CT 06901, (www.stlukeslifeworks.org.). They provide housing, education and support services to people overcoming homelessness.
