Armand Leboeuf Obituary

DRACUT - Armand L. Leboeuf, age 86, a longtime resident of Dracut died Wednesday December 15, 2021 at Courville at Nashua. He was the beloved husband of Ethel E. (Krawczyk) Leboeuf, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in June.

He was born in Lowell on May 23, 1935, and was a son of the late George and Irene (Monette) Leboeuf. He was a graduate of the former Keith Academy in Lowell and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Merrimack College in North Andover and his Master's Degree in Education from Boston University.

Prior to his retirement, Armand was employed for many years as the head of the reading department for Medfield Public Schools. He was also employed for many years during the summer months by the Lowell National Historic Park.

He was a longtime, active communicant of St. Therese Church (now Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church) in Dracut.

Armand was also very active in the Town of Dracut as a former member and chairman of the Dracut Recreation Commission and former member and chairman of the Dracut Finance Committee. He was also a longtime member of the Dracut Lions Club.

He enjoyed playing cribbage and tennis and was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox. Following his retirement, he and Ethel enjoyed spending their summers at Sawyer Lake in Gilmanton, NH and winters in Port Orange, FL. His greatest joy however, was spending time in the company of his loving family, especially his adoring grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Armand is survived and will be deeply missed by three sons, David Leboeuf and his wife Kelly of Gilmanton, NH, Richard Leboeuf and his wife Nancy of Dracut, James Leboeuf and his wife Paula of Dracut; his daughter, Nancy Murphy and her husband Tom of Dracut; his ten grandchildren, Zachary, Lyndsey, Matthew, Tyler, Justin, Ashley, Hailey, Katelyn, Ryan, and Jacob; two sisters, Cecile Potvin and her husband Edward of Lowell and Theresa Jezak of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Michael Leboeuf and the brother of the late George Leboeuf.

A special thank you to the staff of the Courville at Nashua and the Arbors of Dracut who took special care of him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Armand's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Friday from 3:00 until 7:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church in Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. To the LaBeouf family,

Armand was a wise man, but at the same time, he had a wonderful sense of humor.

As I read his story, the mention of his work with the Dracut Recreation Committee reminded me of him joining us kids at the Groton Ski Hill so many years ago. Wearing the shorty beginner skis and falling down the hills along with the rest of us in laughter.

Yesterday, as I waited for the elevator in the lobby of the Arbors, heading to visit my mom, I was standing with a woman holding a beautiful bouquet of red and white flowers. I commented on how pretty they were. She explained that her husband had just passed away and as she was at the florist making arrangements, they had gifted her with the flowers. I gave her my deepest condolences several times as we rode to the 2nd floor together. Of course we were both wearing masks, so neither knew who each other was, but I thought I recognized her voice. Now I realize, the woman I poured out my condolences to was indeed your mother, Ethel.

My mom has been a resident of the Arbors for less than two months. I strolled the halls when she first moved in, reading the outside name plaques, to see who I might know. I noticed of course the plaque of Armand and Ethel LaBeouf. At the time I thought I would visit one day perhaps. Please share my condolences once again to your mother. I look forward to the day we can return to normalcy where we can see both the joys and sorrows in the faces that we meet.

Again, I am truely sorry for your loss. Your dad will be missed greatly and remembered often.

With deep sorrow,
Nancy and June Swiniarski

Sadden by the passing of Armand, I never told him how special he was to me, as a tutor and mentor for attending Keith Academy. To the entire LeBoeuf family you all are special, I was lucky to have the LeBoeuf family as neighbors and classmates.

One story, I mixed my school lunch bag with Armand's one day, he had a peanut butter and cucumber sandwich, now who eats that stuff, not one of my best lunches? Hugs to all.
