Birt Brien Obituary
Birt E. Brien Sr., 76, of Derry, NH, passed away Sunday November 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. He was born on October 31, 1946, in Lowell, MA, a son of the late George and Olive (Chandler) Brien.
Birt and his wife Linda operated a motel at Weirs Beach. He was a people person and always made his motel customers feel welcome.
Birt had two passions in life - playing his accordion and his family. He enjoyed going to the stock car races with his grandson Anthony and his friends. He also enjoyed visiting his son Robert at his store and hanging out in the garage with the guys. Birt was a Patriots fan through and through and loved seeing Super Bowl 39 with his son Robert. He also enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda (Ramsey) Brien of Derry; two sons, Birt E. Brien, Jr. of Merrimack, NH and Robert Brien and wife Michelle of Derry; eight grandchildren, Cade, Bradley, Nicholas, Trinity, Noah, Anthony and twins Hannah and Isiah; one brother, Danny Brien, two sisters, Myrtle Garside, and Marsha Cancado, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by four siblings, twin brother George Brien, brother Leonard Brien and sisters Carol Jackman and Noreene Paradis.
There are no calling hours. Follow cremation, a memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday December 12, 2022 at11:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
