Catherine McQuade Obituary

Catherine C. 'Kay' McQuade of Lowell, UMass Lowell retiree; 82 LOWELL Catherine C. "Kay" McQuade, a longtime Lowell resident, died Friday, August 1, 2008, at a local nursing home. She was 82. Born in Lowell on July 27, 1926, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Susan M. (McGirr) McQuade. She had been employed by The University of Massachusetts at Lowell as the Assistant Director of Payroll. She was a member of the League of Catholic Women and a member of the Middlesex Women's Club. She was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Dracut. Kay was an avid shopper, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include a brother, Joseph T. McQuade of Westford; two sisters, Mary B. Shea of Goffstown, NH, Joan E. Lynch and her husband, Thomas of Princeton; a sister-in-law, Dorothy McQuade of Lexington, formerly of Nashua, NH; 16 nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and nephews; and three great grand nieces and nephews; many dear friends including Patricia Dailey of Lowell. She was a sister of the late John V. McQuade. McQUADE Catherine C., 82 of Lowell. Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, on Monday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM in St. Francis Church, Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine's name may be made to the St. Francis Church Building Fund, PO BOX 609, Dracut, MA 01826.
