Dana J. Kelly
of North Billerica; 65

NO. BILLERICA -- Dana J. Kelly, Retired Business Manager/Financial Secretary-Treasurer of Pipefitters Association Local Union # 537, a 40 year resident of North Billerica and formerly of Charlestown, passed into eternal life at his home in North Billerica on Saturday, St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2012 after an extended illness. He was 65 years old.

Dana was born in Boston on September 15, 1946 to the late James and Florence (Brophy) Kelly. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1964. Dana joined the Pipefitters Association Local Union # 537 in 1965, a fourth generation member, and rose thru it's ranks where he became an instructor in welding for all potential members doing their 5 year apprenticeship. He was a Union Organizer for 14 years and Assistant Business Manager for 2 terms. He became Business Manager/Financial Secretary-Treasurer in 2004 and retired in 2007 after 1 term. Dana dedicated his life to his 2 top priorities which were family and union.

Dana is the beloved husband of 41 years to the late Linda M. (Noone) Kelly. He is the devoted father of Brian P. Kelly and his wife Wendy of Billerica, Kristin Ward and her husband Kevin of North Andover and David M. Kelly and his wife Kristin of Billerica. He is the loving Papa to Sean Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Meagan Kelly and Eryn Marie Ward. He is the beloved brother of James Kelly of Duxbury, Candace McGrath of Florida, Lindsay Kelly of Florida and Kerry Kelly of Bradford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

KELLY -- Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dana's Funeral on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St., Charlestown at 10 a.m. Cremation will take place following his funeral mass. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make a memorial donation in Dana's name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.

Dana, I hope you and my Dad Cookie are up in Heaven hanging out together.
