Daniel Bedard

1962 - 2022

Mr. Daniel "Dan" G. Bedard, 60, passed away peacefully at his home on his birthday, Monday January 10, 2022 with his loving family by his side.

Dan was born on January 10, 1962 in Lowell, Massachusetts a son of his late father Alfred and Mary Jane (Hardy) Bedard.

A lifelong resident of Lowell, Dan attended Ste. Jeanne d'Arc School and graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1980. He later went on to attend UMass Lowell where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Daniel was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Family meant everything to Dan and he considered his friends part of his family. A la Famille was not just a toast for him, it was everything! He will be missed by so many people most especially his soul mate, and certainly better half, Camille, to whom he was married for 35 years but shared the same life for over 50. Theirs was a love story for the ages that ended much too soon.

Dan was a devoted communicant of Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish and was faith-filled until the end. The only thing bigger than Dan's family was his willingness to help and support those in need.

At UMass Lowell, Dan was a Project Manager by trade and a Professor by passion. He loved teaching his students, and unlike them, couldn't wait for the semester to begin!

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Bedard, his loving wife, Camille (Grandchamp) Bedard; his daughter, Liz Bedard and her husband Joseph Baker, Emily (Bedard) Gillotte and her husband Kevin, the daughter of his heart, Ally Choate; his son, Jesse Bedard and Kia Ferguson, his three grandchildren; Lily and Owen Baker and Lyla Bedard; his two brothers, Ron Bedard and his wife Marie (Lyons) Bedard, Donald Bedard and his husband David Vaillancourt; five sisters, Diane (Bedard) Duff and her husband Tom, Elaine (Bedard) Krawczyk, Marie Ellen (Bedard) Sigman and her husband Rick, Renee (Bedard) Gregoire and her husband Steve, Kim (Bedard) Curran and her husband Tim, as well as countless nieces and nephews and endless friends, Tim & Norma, Laurie & Don, Larry & Francine, Roger & Francine, Marc & Barbara, Ken & Louise… all of whom he loved so very, very dearly.

Arrangements

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday January 14th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday morning at 9:00am at St Rita Parish, 158 Mammoth Rd Lowell. At the request of the family, we are asking that friends meet directly at church on Saturday morning. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. For those attending, facial coverings are respectfully required at the funeral home and church. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, donations may be made in Dan' s memory to Ste.
