I was a freshman in the UMass ROTC program at the same time as Daniel, and I still carry his memory with me. I wish I could have know him better but I am grateful for the brief time we connected. My impression of him was that he was kind, soft spoken, intelligent and empathetic. I continue to keep Daniel and his family in my thoughts and prayers, especially Eric, whom I also had the pleasure of knowing during our college years.
