PELHAM, NH -- Daniel A. Maio, 52, died Monday, December 30th at Boston Medical Center, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne (Fontaine) Maio, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.

Daniel was born in Lowell on April 28, 1961, a son of the late Adam Maio and Virginia (McCarthy) (Maio) Swan, and also a step-son to the late Willard Swan. He received his education in Dracut and was a graduate of Dracut High School, class of 1979.

For many years Daniel was employed at Wang Laboratories and previously at Lowell General Hospital in the maintenance department.

Dan enjoyed vacationing, baking, playing cards, and spending time with his family, including his twin grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong will, and positive attitude.

In addition to his wife Suzanne, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughters Alyshia Alumbaugh and her husband Kevin of Hudson, NH and Emily Maio and her fiancé Charles Gillis III of Tyngsboro; grandchildren Avery and Brayden Alumbaugh; siblings Robert Maio and his wife Lina, and David Maio and his wife Joyce, all of Merrimack, NH, Gail Bowen and her husband James of Amherst, NH, and Linda Chamberland of Hudson, NH; mother-in-law Gertrude Fontaine Lampron of Dracut, several step-siblings including Bill Swan and his wife Nancy of Byfield, MA, Kathy Severino and her husband Paul of Concord, MA and Peter Swan and his wife Debra of Indiana, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

MAIO -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, January 5th from 1 to 5 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral will take place from the funeral home on Monday, January 6th at 8 a.m., with his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Magdalen Church, Tyngsboro.
