David Sheppard Obituary

South Paris

David T. Sheppard, 82 of South Paris, Norway, Bridgton, Rangeley, ME, North Hampton, NH, Billerica, Tewskbury, MA, died peacefully on Saturday February 19, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born February 21, 1939, in Joplin, Missouri, son of the late David and Leola (LaLone) Sheppard.

He graduated from high school and joined the United States Navy to serve his country. During his time in the Navy while stationed in Boston he met the love of his life Eileen (Comeau) Sheppard (Melrose, MA) and they were married for 61 years.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Sharon (Sheppard) Ault of Lees Summit, MO.

He is survived by his wife Eileen (Comeau) Sheppard, son David (Columbia, MD) and his family, Elizabeth, David, Joseph and Jacob, daughter, Colleen Dutile Koob (Rangeley, ME) and her family Danielle, David, Margarita, Bella and Mia, daughter, Christine Lynch (Shrewsbury, MA) and her family, Donald, Ashley and Carolyn, daughter, Heather Carr (West Paris, ME), and her family, Anthony and Victoria, and sister Susan (Sheppard) Deutrich (Bellville, TX).

David worked as an engineer for Honeywell in Billerica, MA before his retirement. Post retirement he became a real estate agent for the fun of it and enjoyed traveling spending many winters on the Gulf Shores of Alabama with his wife and friends. He also volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity and later in life became a Knight with the Knights of Columbus. An engineer in all that he did, he would think, rethink and strategize about the best way to build something or re-work it to make it better.

All are invited to his funeral Mass on Saturday, March 19 at 10:00 am at St Catherine's of Sienna, Norway Maine. Burial will take place at a later date in Rangeley, Maine.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the team of caregivers at Memory Care at Market Square Center in South Paris, Maine for the wonderful care provided to David (and continue to provide for Eileen).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or the Memory Care at Market Square Center at www.memorycareatmarketsquare.com
