Deborah Kilbride Obituary

Loving wife and mother

LOWELL - On Saturday, February 6th, 2021, Deborah 'Debi' Jean Kilbride, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 58.

Debi was born on July 18th, 1962 in Lowell, MA to the late Francis and Margaret Grimshaw. Debi was raised in the Centralville area of Lowell and lived on Christian Hill for the entirety of her life. She received her degree in Medical Assistance from Middlesex Community College and worked in the medical industry as a quality control inspector until she retired in the early 2000's. On July 15th, 1989, she married the love of her life, Brian V. Kilbride. They raised two children together, Samantha and Cote Kilbride, and loved each other for over forty years.

Debi was known for her fiery, sarcastic personality, dark sense of humor, and her no-nonsense attitude. She had a passion for animals and loved her dog, Maggie Mae, and her cats, Sage, Onyx, and Gemma, with the same ferocity she loved her children. She loved listening to music and loudly singing along. She retained a special place in her heart for Carly Simon, Fleetwood Mac, and anything to do with Freddie Mercury. Earlier in her life, she was a member of the Dom Polski club and enjoyed bartending on Sundays during football season. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the East End Club and had many fond memories of her friends there. More recently, she was an avid blanket crocheter, magazine and book reader, and loved sitting on her front porch with a hot cup of coffee. Out of all of her accomplishments, Debi considered raising her two children to be the greatest achievement of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Brian, her two children, Samantha and Cote, her mother-in-law, Claire Campion, and her remaining brothers, sisters, and their significant others: Francis and Deborah Grimshaw; Mark and Tracy Grimshaw; Margaret and Bradford Merril; Donna and Joseph Davis; Kevin Grimshaw; her brother-in-law Robert Foss, and his significant other, Lori Farnsworth; and her sister-in-law, Gail Grimshaw. Her late sister, Catherine Foss, and late brother, David Grimshaw, were both dearly missed by Debi. She was blessed and is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. In particular, she shared a very special bond with her niece, Kerry "Dabba" Marcotte, and often joked she was her first-born.

Words cannot express the space Debi leaves behind in the lives of her loved ones. Her spirit, wit, laughter, and bright, infectious smile will be missed most of all.

A testament to her character, Debi donated her body to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for cancer research.

SERVICES: The family will be hosting a celebration of Debi's life on Friday, February 12th, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. In accordance with health requirements, face coverings are required. If friends are unable to attend but would like to commemorate her, Debi would love a donation be made in her name to a local animal rescue or shelter. The Christmas and holiday season wasn't the same without Aunt Deb. Her commitment to family and friends always made going to her house Christmas Eve an event I always looked forward to attending. She will always be missed.

Debi was truly very special to everyone in her midst. She had a deep seated love for not just her immediate family but for extended family and friends. Debi and I enjoyed a fun and amusing relationship thru the years. I always looked forward to talking to her on the phone, on holidays she dutifully hosted, and on the occasions I would just drop in for a lively and entertaining chat. She cherished talking about her dearest loves, Sam and Cote. She was always so proud of all they are and have become. I am grateful she got to enjoy seeing the success they both enjoy. The success they both no doubt enjoy from the loving atmosphere and support Debi always set forth. Her relationship with her husband Brian was something very special. They had a really strong unmistakable love that Deb loved to show in her special "Centralville" way. I will miss Deb immensely. She was taken way too soon. I am lucky to have known her and to have been part of her family. I will always treasure our talks and I will always hold her close to my heart. I will always appreciate that even while she was in treatment she would make time to shoot the breeze with me.

Words can't express how sorry we are for the huge loss to your family . Debi was a friend for 45 years. we went through it all. Her infectious smile, her quick wit and as she would say," her potty mouth". If you were lucky enough to meet her, you would never forget. My heart breaks. You are my family. I will love and miss you forever. Until we meet again. XOXO Jim and Nancy Gaudette.
