Diane Canelas Obituary

Diane Canelas
long time resident of Chelmsford; 63

CHELMSFORD - Diane Canelas, age 63 passed away at home surrounded by her loving family after a long brave battle with ovarian cancer. She was born March 1, 1955 in Lowell. The daughter of predeceased mother Estel Heasman and father Manuel Goes.

Diane will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 36 years Tom Canelas Jr. of Chelmsford, where they were long time residents. Their 2 beautiful daughters Stephanie, Hayley and her husband Matt, and 3 grandsons, Alex, Haeden and Jacob who were her pride and joy. Diane will also be forever remembered by her sister Debbie, as well as sisters Sheila and Sandy, brother and sister in law Paul and Mary, as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and treasured friends. She will be especially missed by Yittaman and Poopey her bestest furry pals.

Diane was the heart of her family, a beacon of light to many, a uniquely gifted mother to her daughters, and an extraordinary friend. She had the ability to see the sun shining on the darkest of days, to find happiness even through the most challenging times in recent years with her illness. She was a talented artist, who painted throughout her life, she was very creative and had many hobbies over the years, including jewelry making, glass painting and too many more to mention. She had several memorable jobs and made many wonderful friends over the years. If asked today, she would tell you her most precious and cherished position above all was that of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A private service was held at the request of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME. For online condolences please visit CHELMSFORDFUNERALHOME.com or visit us on facebook.

I knew Diane and Tom years ago when our kids were young. Stephanie and my daughter Jill were good friends and Haley babysat for me. We moved from Chelmsford and lost touch after a while but never forgot the friendships.
Tom,Haley and Stephanie we are so heartbroken to hear you have lost Diane. Our thoughts are with you.

I worked with Diane and liked her very much. She was always so sweet and upbeat. She often spoke of her family and how important all of you were to her. She was kind and funny and I am sorry to learn she passed away. Rest in peace, Diane. My deepest condolences to your family. Ann Mullin
