Dolores Dion Obituary
1928 - 2014
LOWELL -- Dolores C. (Lussier) Dion, 86, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus, following a period of declining health.
She was the devoted wife of the late Norman L. Dion, whom she married on November 24, 1949.
Born in Lowell on January 20, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Lucien F. and Lina (Beauchesne) Lussier.
Mrs. Dion was a graduate of St. Louis Parochial School and St. Louis Academy. She was a faithful parishioner of the former St. Louis de France Church.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a secretary for Henry F. Achin Insurance Agency.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Dion of Lowell; her son and daughter-in-law, Norman M. Dion and his wife, Margaret Glanville of New York, NY; a sister, Benita Bragan of Hampstead, NH; a brother and sister-in-law, Lucien F. Lussier and his wife, Barbara, of Andover; three sisters-in-law, Doris Dion and Eleanore Dion both of Dracut, Anita Dion of California; and several nieces and nephews.
DION -- It being her request, calling hours have been omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service that will take place on Tuesday morning at 9 AM in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford. For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to: St. Louis School Gift Program, Development Office, 77 Boisvert Street, Lowell, MA 01850. Sending my condolences to you and your family on your mother's passing. I always enjoyed talking to her whenever she called the newsroom and appreciated the wonderful memories she shared with me about Lowell's old movie theaters when I was preparing my exhibit for the Mogan Center in the early 1990s. She was a wealth of information and a great help to me. Thinking of you all.
