Westford School Dept. retiree; 87
WESTFORD -- Doris S. (Steever) Santaguida, 87, of Westford, died peacefully at her home on September 22, 2011.
Beloved wife of the late Henry E. Santaguida. Daughter of the late George E. and Myrtle (Leitch) Steever, sister of the late G. Edmund Steever.
Loving mother of Dr. Rik Santaguida and his wife, Dr. Helen Story of Evergreen, CO, David Santaguida and his wife, Linda (Gibbons) of N. Brookfield, Janet Santaguida of Lancaster, and Nancy Santaguida and her partner, Charlene Hannaford of Boxford.
Also survived by her dear brother-in-law, Charles Santaguida of Westborough; and many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Born April 2, 1924 in Philadelphia, Doris was raised in the suburb of Upper Darby, PA where she met and married her husband, Henry. In 1964, they moved their young family to Westford.
After the death of her husband in 1967, Doris began working for the Westford School System, in the Superintendent's office where she held a variety of positions until her retirement in 1991.
Doris was active in many Westford organizations.
SANTAGUIDA -- Friends may call at the Healy Funeral Home, 57 N. Main Street, Westford, MA from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Parish Church United of Westford on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Cremation is to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Parish Church United of Westford or to an animal shelter/organization of your choice. FUNERAL DIRECTOR J.A.
