Dylan King Obituary

Westfield, MA

Dylan James King, 28, of Westfield, MA passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

Dylan was born on March 4, 1993, in Lowell, MA. He was educated in the Westfield School System, graduating from Westfield Technical Academy, Electrical Program, with the Class of 2011. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Parish of Westfield.

Dylan worked in the produce department at several locations for Stop and Shop, for more than eleven years, most recently in Westfield. He was an avid New England Sports Fan and Tournament Fisherman.

One of his passions was fishing, especially with his close friend, John Allen, on Congamond Lakes. He also enjoyed playing golf, and loved spending time with his family at Salisbury, Hampton, and Old Orchard Beach. He was a dedicated video gamer and was known as "DJKing48" by his online friends. Most of all, Dylan loved his family and always put them first. He had the biggest heart and always extended his love and warmth to anyone he met, even strangers.

He is survived by his Mother, Laura Ann (DeLuca, Lemire, King) Proulx and her husband, Wayne P. Proulx, of Westfield and his father, James P. King and his wife, Cheri King, of Chelmsford. He is also survived by his siblings, Jacob W. Proulx of Westfield, James King Jr., Grace King, and Amber King, all of Chelmsford; his grandmothers, Ann Lemire of Lowell, and Margaret King of Lowell; his aunts and uncles, Donna Arcand of Salem, NH, Greg Lemire and his wife Carolyn of Lowell, Daryl Proulx and his wife Lucy of Ayer and his late uncle Steven Proulx of Lowell; as well as many cousins and friends.

While practicing social distancing guidelines and wearing a mask, all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 14 and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 15 at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. To the families of Dylan, I am so sorry for your loss. When I would walk into stop & shop in Westfield with my 4 year old son (who has asd) Dylan would be in produce most times and would interact with my son for a couple minutes always making him laugh and smile. I will miss those interactions. RIP Dylan.

To Dylan's family and friends, I interacted with Dylan as a customer, numerous times per week, in the Produce Department of the Westfield Stop & Shop. He always greeted me with a smile, and hello. I will miss the short conversations I had with such a bright, personable young man. He will be missed. May the pain and loss you are feeling diminish quickly, leaving you only with the pleasant memories of your time together.
