N. CHELMSFORD, MA -- Eleanor Marie Noran, 85, of N. Chelmsford, MA, formerly of Dracut, MA, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Radius Northwood Health Care Center.

For 61 years, she was married to the late Mr. Albert J. Noran, until his death July 24, 2012.

The daughter of the late Harold and Anna Paine, she was a graduate of St. Charles High School of Woburn, MA where she was the valedictorian of the class of 1944. She attended nursing school at Cambridge City Hospital.

She worked at Sullivan, Dixon & Co., of Lowell, MA. She also worked at the IRS in Andover, MA for 11 years; until she retired in 1997.

She was a communicant of St. Francis Church of Dracut, MA.

For many years, she was an avid bowler with the Brunswick Bowling League. Eleanor was also a member of the YMCA Women's, Group and the Rainbow Mother's Club. She coached youth sports in her younger years.

She is survived by her son, John S. Noran and his wife, Kathleen A. Noran (Lefebvre); and their four children, Kara E. Bixby and her husband, James Bixby of St. Paul, Minnesota, Erica M. Noran of Milford, Mass., Sean S. Noran and Christopher J. Noran who reside in Westford, Massachusetts; Eleanor's daughter, Joan M. Carr (Noran) and her husband, David G. Carr and their five children, Matthew D. Carr, Michael P. Carr, Kevin A. Carr, Daniel T. Carr and Kathryn E. Carr who reside in Carlsbad, California. Eleanor also leaves behind her sister, Anne Pridgen of Clearwater, FL; and a sister-in-law, Helen Downs of Dracut, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Robert Paine of Waterbury, CT.

NORAN -- Eleanor Marie Noran, of N. Chelmsford, MA, died Sept. 27, 2012. Visiting hours Mon. 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral Tues. at 8 AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9 AM at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Burial in Varnum Cemetery, Dracut.
