Eugene Bungard Obituary
Eugene Scott Bungard, age 65, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Harlingen, Texas on September 20, 1957, and was a son of the late Major Harry E. and Dora (Campbell) Bungard.
Scott and his family lived in Idaho, Japan, and Oklahoma, before they settled in Chelmsford in the summer of 1968. He graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1975 and earned his Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He then went on to earn his Master's in Education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1996. Scott taught English at Lawrence High School from 1996 until his retirement, sharing his passion for writing and literature. He was an avid reader, a Boston sports lover, a Rolling Stones super fan, and loved spending vacations in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.
The biggest loves of his life were his three children. Scott leaves his children, Jillian Bungard of Shelton, CT, Kelly Bungard of Boston, and Chris Bungard of Chelmsford; his siblings, Elizabeth Lynn Piper and her husband Greg of Chelmsford, and Susan Badger and her husband Robert of Hainsport, NJ; his nieces and nephews, Alyssa Watson and her husband Zach, Kimberly Piper, Matthew Piper, Robert Badger and his wife Chelsea, and Ryan Badger; and his grandniece Everly Watson.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 9 - 11AM at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Funeral services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scott's memory to the American Heart Association at heart.org. Funeral directors Paul A. Hardy, Jr. and Jennifer Hardy.
