Grace Croteau Obituary

Grace D. Croteau of Chelmsford, IRS Retiree; 91 CHELMSFORD Mrs. Grace D. (Raddin) Croteau, of Chelmsford, died early Wednesday morning, September 24, 2008, at D'Youville Senior Care Center of Lowell, MA. She was the wife of the late Mr. George A. Croteau who died Jan. 17, 1997. Born in Groton, MA, on Dec. 31, 1916, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ann (Devine) Raddin. She was a graduate of Groton High School with the class of 1934, and from Becker Jr. College in Worcester. Over the years, she worked at Hollingsworth & Vose Mills in West Groton, Ft. Deven's in 1942, the Mass. Dept. of Youth Services from 1947 to 1957, the Arizona State Dept. of Health from 1963 to 1964, Bowlmor Corp. in Littleton from 1964 to 1965, and retiring from the Internal Revenue Service in Andover as a Tax Collector in 1979. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ayer, MA. She was a past Noble Grand of the Rebeccah Lodge and member of the Middlesex Women's Republican Club. She is survived by a niece, Barbara Hyslop of Gilmanton Iron Works, NH; a nephew, Ronald Dimock of North Carolina; and a close friend, Lester W. Monette of Dracut, MA. She was the sister of the late Barbara L. Dimock of NH who died in 1991, the late Mary J. Tillman of Orange Park, FL who died in 1996, and C. Harland Raddin of Wolfeboro, NH who died in 2007. CROTEAU Grace D. Croteau of Chelmsford died Sept. 24, 2008. No Visiting hours. Graveside Services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Lowell Cemetery. I met Grace several years ago when I worked in Chelmsford. She was a warm and gracious lady and will be sorely missed.
