Harold F. King
of Dracut, Korean War vet; 79

DRACUT -- Harold F. King, 79, of Dracut, died Tuesday morning, January 5, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Alice J. (Nerney) King of Dracut with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Bristol, RI on October 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Frances (Amato) King. He received his education in the Lowell school system, and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1948. He went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering from the former Lowell Technological Institute.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant in the Army of the United States.

Mr. King had worked for many years as an Electronics Engineer until the time of his retirement in the early 1990s.

He was a communicant of St. Rita Church in Lowell.

In his free time, he enjoyed model airplanes, history, science, math, and classical music.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Alicia Robitaille and her husband, Daniel of Salem, Jennifer Hoemann and her husband, Michael of Marlboro, and Marissa King of Brookline; three grandchildren, Justin and Cameron Robitaille, and Andrei Hoemann; one sister, Marjorie Richardson and her husband, Alan of Tyngsboro; one brother-in-law, Paul Nerney and his wife, Elaine of Malden; three nieces; and his beloved cats.

KING -- It being his wish, there will be no calling hours. His Memorial Funeral Mass wil be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at St. Rita Church, Lowell. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to either the Ellen Gifford Cat Shelter, 30 Undine Rd., Brighton, MA 02135 or to the Dracut Food Pantry, Mill St., Dracut, MA 01826.
