LOWELL Helen M. (Foley) (Lanier) Kondziolka, 88, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late William J. Lanier and John S. Kondziolka.
Born in Lowell, on April 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Kenney) Foley.
She attended St. Patrick's School.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and friend.
She was employed for many years at the Delaney Nursing Home on Christian Hill as an elder care aide. She
received many accolades for her care and devotion to the elderly. Helen was also employed by Lowell General
Hospital for many years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed music and loved to dance and sing.
Helen is survived by her two sons, William "Butch" Lanier and Robert Lanier, both of Lowell; two grandsons and their wives, Robert Lanier and his wife, Kristi of
Groton, Darren Lanier and his wife, Heather of Tyngsboro; a granddaughter, Marjorie (Lanier) Lichtenberger and her husband, Francis of Winchester; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew and Sandra of
Groton, Alex, Max, Jack and Peter of Winchester, Ashley and Molly of Tyngsboro; three step nephews, Richard Geoffroy and his wife, Debra, Joseph Geoffroy and his wife, Mary, Stephen Kondziolka and his wife, Louise; three step nieces, Christine Johnson and her husband, Gordon, Donna Waddle and her husband, Brian, all of Concord, CA, and Barbara Geoffroy of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Aline West of Lowell; dear friends, Joan Gettings and Ethel Tournas who were very helpful to her in her later years; many nieces and nephews.
She was also the devoted sister to the late John L. Foley, and step aunt of the late James Geoffroy.
KONDZIOLKA Helen (Foley) (Lanier). Relatives and friends will be received at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, on Friday morning at 9 A.M. Funeral Services will
follow at 10 A.M. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
