James McCann Obituary
of North Andover
NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- Mr. James F. McCann, 90, of North Andover, MA, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, 2013, at Lahey Medical Center of Burlington, MA.
He was married to Mrs. Ann (Regan) McCann with whom he celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2013.
James was the son of the late James and Margaret McCann. He was a graduate of Keith Academy with the class of 1941, and graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor in Science in Engineering with the class of 1945. He also attended Columbia University.
He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War.
James was the Founder and Chairman of Continental Resources of Bedford, MA. James has more than four decades of experience in supplying electronic and computer equipment to the high-technology market. Before founding ConRes, James also founded Instrument Associates, and Wall Industries.
He was a member of Vesper Country Club of Tyngsboro, MA, Nashawtuc Country Club of Concord, MA, and Quail Ridge Country Club of Boynton Beach, FL.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mary and her husband, Richard Nardella of N. Andover, MA; two sons, James and his wife, Mary McCann of Sudbury, MA, and Kevin and his wife, Cheryl McCann of Westford, MA; his brother, Kenneth E. McCann of Methuen, MA, and a sister-in-law, Mary (Doherty) McCann of Nashua, NH; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. James is also survived by many nieces and nephews; as well as several close friends.
James was the brother of the late Alfred, Raymond, and Alice McCann, the late Elizabeth Caron, the late Virginia Johnson, the late Grace Weldon, the late Doris Regan, and the late Catherine A. Dolan.
McCANN -- Mr. James F. McCann, 90, of N. Andover, MA, died Oct. 9, 2013. A celebration of Life and Reception will take place Sun. from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Andover Country Club in Andover, MA. I was fortunate to have worked directly for Jim for nearly fourteen years. I cannot recall a conversation with Jim when he did not ask what he could do to help us achieve our goals. A true peddler, an inspirational leader and a man of character, he will be missed.
