Jessie Price Obituary

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother

LOWELL

Jessie Mae (Cathcart) Price passed away on January 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 18, 1946 to Dorothy (Bolton) and Frederick Cathcart of Lowell, MA. She is survived by her husband David Price, with whom she would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this coming June. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Brian Bourque, and two amazing grandchildren, Makenzie (Mack) and David James (DJ) Bourque, all of Tewksbury. Jessie is also survived by her loving siblings, Brenda Baker of Rhinebeck, NY, Eleanor Carrigan of Kittery, ME, and Frederick Cathcart and his wife Diane of Dracut, MA. She was predeceased by her sister Sandra Tripodi. She also leaves her brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Joanne Price of Lowell, Steven and Sue Price of Pepperell, Thomas Price of Westford, and Marlene Price and her partner Brad Lowe of Salisbury. In addition to her loving parents, Jessie is predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Saul and Helen Price of Lowell. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Jessie met the love of her life while still in high school and had a love story people only dream of. David met Jessie when she walked into class and thought about how she was a nice looking girl. Later that night they met once again at a dance where David made a bet to his friend, $10, that he would marry that girl, and he did just that! Jessie was a 1965 Graduate of Lowell High School where she served as a Girl Officer. Jessie lived for her only daughter Melissa, and later her grandchildren, attending their school activities and sports events. They also loved spending time at the beach, especially York, Maine, where they have been vacationing for many years. She was a champion cribbage player and enjoyed visiting the casino when she could. Jessie was also known for elegant Christmas parties where she would show off her decoration skills and invite friends and family alike for food, fun, and all around laughter.

Jessie will be missed by their lifelong friend, Raymond Masse and she was heartbroken at the passing of his wife Margaret "Peggy" Masse.

Last but not least, the family of Jessie Price would like to give a special thanks to Marlene Price who has been more than just a sister-in-law through all her life, but a close and amazing friend. Helping to take care of her in not only her time of need, but also through her time knowing her. They would also like to thank the entire nursing staff at Lowell General Hospital for the wonderful care given to Jessie.

Family and Friends may call at THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on WEDNESDAY, FEB. 1, 2023, from 4 until 8 PM. To Jessie's Family,
I'm sorry to read about your loss.
Jessie and I worked at Raytheon together. During the gas crunch in the early 70's, I would pick Jessie up and we would carpool to So. Lowell. We laughed and talked during our rides back and forth. Such a pleasant lady.

David and Family

I am very sorry to read of Jessie's passing. In High School she was not only pretty, but a very easy person to speak with. You and she made a great couple. Not bad,David for a $10 bet you had a lifetime of great memories with a very special person. May her memories be eternal.

Jessie you will forever be remembered for your ability to tell great jokes and we will miss your cooking. A loving wife to our brother and a wonderful mother and fantastic grandmother. I can still remember the special bond and friendship you had with our mom. We had our special time and it was my honor to care for you when you needed me the most.
