Joseph Blackburn Obituary

Joseph P. Blackburn Billerica, formerly of Watertown; 82 Billerica Joseph P. Blackburn, formerly of Watertown, MA died on Friday, October 5, 2007. He was 82 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary T. (Hamilton) Blackburn. He was the devoted father of Joseph Blackburn, Jr. & his wife Tina, Robert Blackburn and Edmund Blackburn all of Billerica, and Charles Blackburn of Tewksbury. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren. Born in Watertown, Massachusetts on September 13, 1925, he was the son of Charles and Catherine (Devaney) Blackburn. He was the brother of Ruth Raney of Medford, the late Charles Blackburn, and Mary Wallace. BLACKBURN Mr. Joseph P. Blackburn's funeral will be held from the Stanton Funeral Home, 786 Mount Auburn Street (Route 16), Watertown on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment in Mount Auburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joseph's memory made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472 would be appreciated. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII, and a member of VFW Burnham-Manning Post 1105, Watertown.
