Kathleen Maura (Johns) Carrigg, passed away peacefully on July 9, in Boulder, CO with her son Benjamin by her side. Kathy was born in Lowell, MA on May 2, 1949, daughter of the late Augustine T. Carrigg and Esther D. (Carrigg) Allen. Kathy was also predeceased by her brother Thomas A. Carrigg.

Kathy grew up in Sacred Heart parish and she graduated from Sacred Heart school and Lowell High School. She attended Bay State College in Boston, and upon graduation she was recruited by the CIA, so she packed her bags (and her sister Pat's car) and headed to Washington, DC. It was a very exciting time for her as it coincided with Watergate. Kathy had an illustrious career which culminated with her 13-year employment at Concord Hospital, Concord, NH, before her retirement in 2015. Upon retirement she moved to Colorado to be close to her son and his family.

Kathy raised her family in VA before returning to NE. She and her boys came "home" every summer to spend time with extended family at the family cottage in the Lakes Region of NH. Kathy was a great mother, daughter, sister, and friend. You could count on Kathy to be dressed according to the holiday. Either her hat or sweater or both probably lit up and we looked forward to her walking through the door to see what she was wearing and what fabulous dessert she was bringing. Family called her "Missy Fine" because rather than bother anyone with her troubles she always said everything was always just fine.

Kathy is survived by her two sons Ryan Johns, of Richmond, VA, Benjamin Johns of Erie, CO, his wife Karly Kolisch, and her "little love" and precious grandson Bridger. She is also survived by her two sisters, Patricia Barron, of Franklin, MA and Nancy Carrigg, of Centerville, MA: her favorite brother-in-law, Thomas Niejadlik of Centerville, MA, and her special nephew, Bradley Niejadlik of Mashpee, MA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell, MA. Her "Going Away Party" will be held at a later date on Cape Cod at Kathy's request.

I met Kathy thru my lifelong friendship with her sister Nancy. Through the years Kathy learned of my life's journey and I of hers through Nancy. I consider Kathy part of my extended family. She was always kind, very funny, never ruffled or angry. Meticulously dressed from head to toe and on Holidays adorned with festive decorations. Kathy & Nancy had as symbiotic relationship. Kathy complimented her sisterhood with her enthusiastic willingness to follow Nancy and together join in their adventures and travel. Kathy was a kind soul taken much too soon. My heartfelt sympathy to her sons Benjamin and Ryan. My deepest condolences to her sister Nancy. Kathy is with God in his Kingdom in her glorified body no longer in pain but in pure joy.
