Kathleen P. Hammar, 82, passed away on Saturday evening, September 4th, 2021 at the Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on January 5, 1939 to Florence Ada Comparone Keefe and Raymond Joseph Keefe. Kathleen was raised and received her education in Dracut, MA.

Kathleen worked at Union National Bank and the Lowell Institution for Saving in Lowell MA. She enjoyed making trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos to play the slots. She loved to cook and was always the life of the party. She enjoyed spending time with Sketcher the family dog.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Wendy and Allen Reed of Windham, NH, Philip and Cindy Hammar of Ramona, CA, Kevin Hammar of Nashua, NH, Bonus daughter; Christine Cavedon of Chester, NH and Gretchen and Jeffrey Cardwell of Haverhill, MA; her brother Raymond Keefe and his wife Cheryl of Hudson, NH; her six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as her uncle Thomas Keefe of Dracut MA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Philip F. Hammar and her sister, Marietta Camille Keefe Aldrich.

The family would like to take a moment to thank the nurses at Lowell General Hospital who treated my mother like their own. The care, compassion, and dignity they showed her during her weeklong stay was unprecedented.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 9th from 5-8pm at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 10th at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Bedford Town Cemetery in Bedford, NH.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016.
