BILLERICA -- Kathleen F. Mixon, age 93, wife of the late John F. Mixon died Sunday at the Blaire House of Tewksbury.

She was born in Tewksbury, January 2, 1922, a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Donovan) Murphy and lived in Billerica for most of her life. After she was married she moved to Lawrence for approximately 10 years, where she enjoyed city life for a while.

Mrs. Mixon was employed as a Clerk for the Commonwealth of MA Welfare Office prior to her retirement. Upon retirement she spent her winters in Sarasota, FL for over 20 years, where she enjoyed walking the beach and biking. She was also an active member of the Billerica COA, where she spent a lot of her time crocheting baby hats for newborns. She enjoyed traveling as much as she could, especially the trips she took to Ireland. She will be remembered for her lovely smile and her beautiful blue eyes.

She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Smith and her husband Jerry of Wilmington, Kathleen Mixon of Leominster and Maureen Frechette of Tyngsborough; her sons, John Mixon Jr. and his wife Linda of Ogunquit, ME, Stephen Mixon and his wife Carol of Billerica, Thomas Mixon and his wife Patricia of N. Andover and Daniel Mixon of Lowell; her sister, Mary Coccozella of Holbrook and is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

(Murphy) Mixon, Funeral Wednesday, Dec. 2, from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Church, 796 Boston Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
