of Dracut, Navy Vet; 69

DRACUT, MA -- Kenneth J. MacPhail, 69, passed away Tuesday, March 3rd, at Lowell General Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Patricia R. (Fielding) MacPhail.

Kenneth was born in Somerville, MA on December 15, 1945, a son of the late Mary (Finn) and John Edward MacPhail. He was educated in Billerica and a graduate of Billerica Memorial High School. Ken then served his country proudly as part of the US Navy during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged.

For many years, Ken worked as a Janitor for the Dracut Public Schools until his retirement. Prior to that he worked as a truck driver for the former Lechmere Store. He was also a longtime member of the teamsters local 25.

Ken enjoyed camping and gardening but his greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

Along with his wife, Pat, Ken is survived by his six children, Keith MacPhail and his wife, Edie of PA, Ken MacPhail and his wife, Katie of VA, Dave MacPhail of North Chelmsford, Rich Howe and his wife, Errin of Tyngsboro, Lisa Howe of Chelmsford and Mike Howe of Dracut; four grandchildren, Everett and Bennett MacPhail and Kyra and Brandon Howe; siblings, Edward MacPhail and his wife, Joyce of Burlington, MA, Donald J. MacPhail and his wife, Rosemary of Reno, NV, Marie Roy of Whitman, MA, and Carol Mixon and her husband, Steve of Billerica, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his sisters, Edna, Georgianna, Barbara and Virginia.

MacPHAIL -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, on THURSDAY, March 5th from 3-7 p.m. His Funeral will be held in the Funeral Home on FRIDAY, March 6th at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's name to S.T.E.P. Inc., PO Box 8857, Lowell, MA 01853.
