Kenneth Weinbeck Obituary

beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and chiropractor

Chelmsford

Kenneth Lewis Weinbeck, 77, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts passed away May 11, 2022, at Lowell General Hospital in the company of loved ones after a brief illness. A Lowell native, Ken was active in organizations that foster good character and stood out as a shining example of their success. He was a Boy Scout, a member of the Order of DeMolay, a Freemason, and a ham radio enthusiast. He channeled his love of service and collegiality into his work as a chiropractor, taking up the specialty that offered him relief from several painful diagnoses that ailed him throughout most of his life but never broke his spirit.

Ken graduated from Lowell High School in 1962, studied at Lowell Technological Institute 1962-63, and attended Palmer Chiropractic College 1963-67. It was in his last year at Palmer that he met the love of his life, MaryLynne, whom he married on New Year's Eve of 1966. Together, they lovingly raised a family of four - a family that remains close knit to this day.

In 1969, Ken founded Billerica Chiropractic Office, where he served his patients selflessly for 20 years. In 1989, he devoted his energy full-time to helping other chiropractors via practice management software consulting, which had been a side project since 1982. In 1991, however, Ken was back to seeing patients at Weinbeck Chiropractic Office in Westford until his reluctant retirement in 2012. The satisfaction of alleviating pain for his patients sustained him long past the point where the work itself became painful for him to perform.

Ken is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren: MaryLynne of Chelmsford; Dr. Christopher, Robin, and Naomi Weinbeck of Westford; Dr. Wendy, Jim, Thalissa, and Ell of Nashua; Jennifer, Michaella, and Aidan Weinbeck of Chelmsford; and Michael, Sharon, Gwendolyn, and Annalise Weinbeck of North Reading. He was predeceased by his parents, Lucy and John.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 2pm on Saturday, June 18th at West Chelmsford United Methodist Church.

There are no words that can adequately describe the wonderful man that Ken became. I was a friend from Lowell High and later extended that friendship through Marylynn with whom I became best friends. Our kids grew up together and we became like family. Although in pain, Ken was always there for everyone and I never heard him complain.... He was a very SPECIAL person. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched. But mostly by his amazing family. My heart is broken. I love you all.

Dr Ken was my savior when I was in constant pain, even though I know it pained him to be there, he never let me, or any of his patients down. What a loving, kind, highly intelligent sweetheart. Just knowing he is no longer in pain helps me, but not enough to avoid a broken heart over his loss. Here´s hoping he and Bill are sharing some great stories up in heaven. He will be forever missed.

Ken Weinbeck was my boyhood friend and DeMolay brother, my chiropractor for many years, my Masonic brother and, above all, a man I grew to love and whose counsel was always wise.

My late wife, Ann, and I spent many an evening with Ken and MaryLynne and valued every minute. I already miss him terribly.
