He was born in Roxbury on Feb. 13, 1921, a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Knight) Corbett. He had lived in Arlington and Billerica before he moved to Concord, N.H., 22 years ago.
Mr. Corbett served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 43rd Infantry Division (43rd Cavalry Reconnaissance). He received many decorations, including the Bronze Star.
Mr. Corbett was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association and the Holy Name Society. He was also a commander of the Disabled American Veterans in Arlington.
He was active in youth sports during the '60s and '70s, coaching Billerica youth hockey and serving as a longtime volunteer umpire for the Billerica Little League baseball program.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Brian Corbett of Middleton, Barry Corbett, Kevin R. and Brenda Corbett, and Glenn and Carolyn Corbett, all of Billerica, and Peter and Barbara Corbett of Sumter, S.C.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen and Gary Sloper of Concord, N.H., Paula Mason, Gayle and George Weymouth of Billerica, and Joyce Corbett of Medford; four brothers, Donal, Gerard and Niall Corbett, all of Arlington, and James Corbett of Sterling; his sister, Ruth Stewart of Conn.; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Corbett also was the brother of the late Joseph, Francis, Charles, George, John, William and Mary Corbett, Alice Mead and Kathleen Kessler.
