Lawrence Douglas Wallace Sr.
formerly of Lowell, MA; 82

MCKINNEY, TEXAS -- Lawrence Douglas Wallace Sr. "Gramps", age 82, of McKinney, Texas, passed away September 29, 2013 in McKinney, Texas. He was born on September 18, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts to Lawrence A. and Fern (Hayes) Wallace.

Larry grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts where he graduated from Lowell High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 where he received numerous awards, certifications and commendations. He retired May 1, 1977. Larry graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1979 with a bachelor degree in business management. He began working for Wang Computers in Lowell, Massachusetts as a contract manager where he worked for fifteen years. Larry enjoyed following his Red Sox and watching his grandkids grow up. He attended Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney, Texas.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Wallace Jr. and wife Joan of San Antonio, Texas and Jeff Wallace and wife Angie of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Kelly, Ben, Taylor, Heather, Garrett and Dylan; four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Fern Childs of Tyngsboro, brothers Robert Wallace of Tyngsboro and Kendall Wallace of Lowell and a host of other loving family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence A. and Fern Wallace, brothers; William W. Wallace, Gerald R. Wallace, Donald A. Wallace, Raymond P. Wallace, Claude G. Wallace, John Wallace and twins David and Francis Wallace.

WALLACE -- A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 5871 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends and family at a visitation being held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Mission Park North Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on October 4, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
