My "Big Louie", I can get away with calling him Louie, but nobody else!! I think everyone knows how I felt, being your sister has been an honor and a pleasure, and a hell of a lot of FUN. I want to thank all the Huards for cherishing him the way he deserved. Also, to the three great daughters he raised.. You've overdone yourselves over this hard time and I personally want to say thank you. You each have a big piece of him in you and an honor to him now would be to share his qualities with your little ones. I will Never forget you Lou!! See you in Heaven, your sister, Priscilla.

Dear Hope, Lou-Ann, Katie & the Cormier Family…

I write this note with a heavy heart, I’m so sorry to hear about Lou… I can’t even imagine the hurt you all feel now but I wanted to let you know that my thoughts & prayers are with you. I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there…

No words can express how much a part of your life your dad was, and will always be. He loved you girls & his family more than anything in the world. Lou was a rock among all of us, always giving everyone an amazing example of kindness, consideration, love, fun…and great food! Let’s not forget, man could he dance his butt off!!!

Lou…it has been a complete joy to have known you & please know that growing up w/ you and your family has been some of the best memories of my childhood – thank you! I will truly miss you…how honored I am to have known you, in your lifetime.

My heart goes out to you all; I know how much you will miss Lou…so will I.

So hard to put words to this. Lou was such a nice guy, so easy going.
He was one of the BEST baseball players I ever saw in my life. He could hit and pitch like no one I ever played with.
Rest in peace my friend...

Hope, Lou-Ann, Katie, and the rest of Lou’s family;
I am so sorry for your loss of this wonder man.

My sister Kim, your summary of Lou is beautiful. I cried and laughed (more) reading your story. I was there for the Bat!

A few things I would like to add:
As much of you know Lou was like a father to me as I grew up with my nieces Hope, Lou-Ann and Katie. He always treated me like one of his own and I thank my nieces for accepting that. This I will always appreciate.

We had so many great times at home on 4th street as well as the summer trips to Maine. Who knew you could laugh so much! Also waking up to the smell of him cooking breakfast was always a treat..What an incredible cook!

His singing and dancing was a pleasure! To this day every time I hear Hang on Sloopy Lou is right there in my mind and it brings a smile to my face.

The wonderful relationship he had with my mother Lorraine was a gift. She adored him greatly and we all appreciate him for taking such good care of her.

I will always remember and cherish Lou for his Smiles, Strength, Kindness, Humor, Great Hugs and ability to make people happy.

I thank Lou for being a part of my life.

-Joy

My deepest sympathy to all of the Cormier’s, my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very sad time. I too will cherish the 4th street days. Lou was like a father, brother and friend to me. I could always count on him to be there if and when I needed him. I enjoyed our commutes to Honeywell in Brighton, by the time we got to work each day I smelled like Old Spice, not a bad way to start the day. I especially remember Thanksgiving dinners when Lou would cook up a storm, singing and dancing the whole time. May he rest in peace knowing how much he was loved by so many people he touched in his lifetime. God Bless you all.

Love, Victoria Huard Travers

I'm sorry for your loss.
I played high school baseball with Lou and he was the most humble person with such great abilities.
His smile was there all the time.

First,Thank you Carmen for raising a great man!
Many memories of Lou bring smiles and warmth to me,especially when there is a memory of him with his daughters when we were all living on 4th street.I have images of him singing and dancing with the girls and lots of giggles by them in return. It would be a challenge to find a man happier than Lou was when surrounded by his family(his immediate and extended).I have memories of Lou cooking it up for our family holidays. He was a guy not phased to wear a frilly apron and slave over a hot stove. Now there is an image...a 6'2 guy wearing a frilly apron, siging and dancing to something by Roy Orbison or the Beatles.Well,it brings a smile to my face.
There is also the memories when it wasn't all fun and games..."Oh Lucien, can you come over,we have a bat upstairs?" He was there in a flash taking care of business. There are many more such times that my Mom called on him and he was right there.I am grateful for that.
If there is this place called Heaven and people do get to meet up again,I know that my Mom is very excited to have her friend to sing and dance with again. Yes"Green-eyed Lady"is playing in my head.

I know that his sweet smile and very sweet soul will be missed.
To help ease the pain maybe we can share what he taught us and start a feast on the stove, put the radio on,sing and dance along and have fun with our families.

Thanks for the great memories"Goof"!
