Margaret Stevens Obituary

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Margaret C. (Feran) Stevens, 76, a former longtime resident of Tewksbury who had worked three decades at an oil business in town, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at her home in Myrtle Beach. She was the wife of Donald H. Stevens, who died Aug. 20, 1986.

She was born in St. John, New Brunswick, on May 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Frederick J. and Blanche (King) Feran. She was raised in New Brunswick, Canada. She attended New Brunswick schools, and graduated from St. Vincent's High School in 1947. Following graduation, she attended secretarial school in New Brunswick.

After leaving her native Canada, Mrs. Stevens moved to Tewksbury in 1952, where she resided for 44 years. While living in Tewksbury, she was a communicant of St. William Church .

She also resided in Arizona for nine years, until moving to Myrtle Beach last year.

Prior to her retirement in 1988, she was employed or more than 30 years by the MacLellan Oil Co. in Tewksbury.

She enjoyed summer vacations, and spending time with her family in Maine.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, David D. and Rachael (Gasbarro) Stevens of Myrtle Beach and Brian G. Stevens of Phoenix; two granddaughters, Taylor M. and Jessica N. Stevens, both of Myrtle Beach; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Rita J. Roy of Tewksbury, Anna and Fred Kelly of Tewksbury and Blanche Hanley of New Brunswick a brother, Billy Feran of Tewksbury; and many nieces and nephews including, Paul J. Roy of Tewksbury and Linda Roy Chiozzi of Andover.

Mrs. Stevens was also the sister of the late Elizabeth Feran, and James, Herbert, Edgar and Thomas Feran.
