Maria DaSilva Obituary

Maria O. DaSilva of Lowell, St. Anthony Church member; 92 LOWELL Maria Olivia (Vargas) DaSilva, 92, of Lowell, died Dec 8, at her home after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Antonio Caldeira DaSilva. Born June 6, 1915, in Faial, Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated in that area. In 1968, she came to the United States with her family, settling in Lowell. She made her home in the Back Central Street Neighborhood, and was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She is survived by two daughters, Maria Sousa and her husband, Victor of Lisbon, Portugal, and Angelina Lima and her husband, Walter of Lowell; three grandchildren Milton Lima, and Paul Lima, both of Lowell, and Helia Pixos of NH; a great-granddaughter, Veronica Lima of Lowell; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Jose Caetano Oliveira, and Humberto Caetano Oliveira. YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS 5 UNTIL 7 P.M. ON MONDAY. ON TUESDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 8 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH AT 9 A.M. BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY.
