Marion McKenzie Obituary

Marion G. McKenzie Loving Mother and Grandmother; 87 Lowell Marion Gladys (Morning) McKenzie, 87, passed away Sunday morning, August 10, 2008 at The Highlands in Fitchburg. She was the beloved wife of Donald J. McKenzie who died in 1991. Marion was born in Lowell on December 15, 1920, a daughter of the late David and Gladys (Whitworth) Morning. She attended school in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Marion also attended Business College. She was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Lowell. Marion married Donald J. McKenzie on February 27, 1943 and together they celebrated 48 years of marriage and raised three daughters. Marion was a devoted housewife and mother. She was dedicated to her daughters. Her passions were gardening and knitting. She played and taught piano and loved to play the organ. She also liked to read and cook. Marion loved sports and was a big sports fan, especially of the Patriots and Celtics. She never missed a game. Most of all, Marion loved being a Grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. McKenzie are her three children and their families, Karen Bussey and her husband Alan of Westford, Donna Lassiter and her husband Larry of Hudson, NH, and Mary Cormier and her husband Richard of Townsend; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Reppucci and her husband Joe, Jill Bussey, Alan Bussey and his family, Larry Lassiter and his wife Gloria, Michael Lassiter, Michelle Cormier, and Kristina Cormier; two great grandchildren, Christopher and Larry Lassiter, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. McKenzie was the sister of the late Beverly Byer, Edward Morning, Kenneth Morning, and Forrest Morning. MCKENZIE In Fitchburg, August 10, 2008. Marion G. (Morning) McKenzie, 87, longtime Lowell resident and wife of the late Donald J. McKenzie. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on WEDNESDAY MORNING from 10 until 11 o'clock. Marion's Funeral Service will follow at 11 o'clock in the Funeral Home. Burial in the family lot at the Lowell Cemetery.
