TIVERTON, RHODE ISLAND -- It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mary Flanagan Bordes, age 62, of Tiverton, Rhode Island. Mary died on Wednesday, April 27th, 2011, due to complications from metastatic melanoma. She was the beloved wife of the late John Mason Bordes. Born in Lowell, MA., Mary was the daughter of the late George and Mary Flanagan. Mary graduated from Boston College with a Master's degree in Social Work. She worked as a Clinical Social Worker and was associated with the Hallowell Center in Sudbury, MA. Mary loved sailing and being on and in, the water. She was involved in professional organizations, hometown clubs and charities. Mary's wit, honesty, loyalty, humor and love will be missed. She is survived by her brother, George Flanagan (Susan), Stepson, Cormac Bordes (Audrey), grandchildren, nieces, nephews and so many other dear family and friends.

BORDES -- Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown.
