To the Pepin family.
I'm one of countless people to remember Maurice. From my first week of high school, he was a constant in my life for all four years; from chorus to special chorus, to madrigal, to senior musical, to letting some of us "hang out" helping in the auditorium during study halls, etc. He not only taught music, he taught me lessons that stayed with me forever. My one great memory was when, after catching somebody smoking in the auditorium (not me), rather than send him to our dreaded and feared assistant principal, had him write an essay on the dangers of smoking. This was Mr. Pepin.
I later got to know him as a friend and colleague when I started my own teaching career in Dracut. His influence stayed with me even then, realizing that some rules don't necessarily have to be enforced to the letter, and maybe some lessons about life are as important as the subject at hand.
He was a wonderful role model and he made me a better man.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

Mr. Pepin was a wonderful teacher. I enjoyed his stories and his sense of humor, I was not only lucky enough to have him teach me about music but also about music history and how it correlated to art of the same time period. He was something special. I will always remember and appreciate him. I loved him and he was one of my all time favorite teachers. My sincerest condolences to the Pepin family. May God hold you all closely and comfort you at this difficult time.

Rest in peace Mr. Pepin. You exposed me to wonderful music early in life and taught me lessons that I have used throughout my career. I was fortunate to work with such a fine musician at a young age. You were always kind and my sister and I both remember you fondly. Sending prayers for you and your family.

I can't say enough about Mr.Pepin. He had a profound affect on my life. He taught me the most important things in my life, both on and off the stage. Everything from proper grammar to etiquette and professionalism.
As a young teenager ,with boundless energy and little direction, he helped mentor me. Never letting me feel like I was alone during a troubling time.Even helping me chose a major in college. When family members didn't understand me,he always did. For many years, after I graduated , I was privileged to climb to the balcony of St Therese church and turn the pages as he played the organ. We became friends. He had this boyish inquisitive character with joyful enthusiasm, that made him always appear to be young. The one teacher, friend and mentor I will never forget, he will always be in my prayers.

He was a good friend when you needed to talk. I remember him coming to my house to visit my dad to talk about cars since they both enjoyed working on them. He will be missed greatly. My condolences to his family.

Dear Pepin Family

Monsieur Pepin was the most gracious, talented, and humble of teachers. He inspired so many Dracut students and as for me, I absolutely revered him. He introduced me to genres of music that fascinate me to this day. It wasn't until my adult years that I realized all he had done behind the scenes to pave the way for me to enjoy a role in our class' musical. And, the life lessons he taught while teaching music remain with me today. Ahhh - those medieval dinners!

He was simply amazing, and I know that Heaven is thrilled to have a new musical angel in their midst. Pepin Family -please accept my solemn condolences for your loss and take comfort in the wonderful memories you have of Monsieur.

Dear Pepin Family~~

My sincere sympathy on the passing of your beloved Maurice. He had touched my life in so many ways as a music teacher and friend I had during my years at DHS (Class 1969). May he rest in our Lord's heavenly kingdom where there is no pain, suffering nor sorrow but life everlasting. May his memory be eternal.

Mr Pepin was THAT teacher - the one that made the most profound difference in so many of his students lives. He was my music teacher, Acappella chorus, Kiss Me Kate, No No Nannette and 2 other plays to which he devoted SO much of himself. For 4 years he was a major influence in my high school life. He taught me lessons that remain with me to this day. He taught me that busy people always seem to "get it done". He made a difference. My condolences to his family. Class of 1976

I just wanted to mention here, though it seems impersonal, that Mr. Pepin has always made me smile in my days since DHS. (1988). He taught Theater, but I learned many other things from him, including the value of patience, the power of the spoken word, and the value of taking a moment and enjoying a moment with peers, just because you can. Those lessons are so valuable to me as I have been a professor for almost 20 years, and .... I can always use encouragement to stop and appreciate life. I was sad to hear of his passing, but his influence is all over, in his family and his students. Thanks for sharing him with DHS for all those years.

Great teacher-musician-friend.... He brought music and theater to the hallways-music room-auditorium of Dracut High School. He was the architect for the Gazebo on the Englesby School lawn and started the tradition of bag-pipes leading the graduation classes to the field.
He was missed in Dracut when he retired and now will be missed by friends and family around the U.S.
My condolences to the family, especially his wife

Uncle Maurice and Aunt Dianna were so good to my family in our time of need. They truly made us feel like we were family of their own. Uncle Maurice always had good stories to tell at dinner when eating what he referred to as "good food"!!! I remember sitting in the piano room and listening to music he would play. It is a memory that will always be treasured. ❤

Dad was so well-rounded with MANY interests & skills: performing arts and music (including Jazz), carpentry, photography, stain-glass making, jewelry making, camping, automobile repair & remodeling, electronics, traveling, and writing. He was willing to try new things (like a helicopter ride) no matter at what age. He was a wonderful father to his six children and a devoted husband to my mother, Diana. A truly charming gentleman whom my sons were privileged to know well. An exemplary model for us all. HE WAS THE BEST OF THE BEST.

I will always be thankful to Mr. Pepin for bringing me out of my shell and helping me with my self confidence. He was my theater teacher in the early 90's. I'll never forget the day he chose me to be in my first play. To this day, I believe I may have taken another path if it wasn't for his encouragement and belief in me. Such a great, great man.

October 9, 2017

My sincere condolences to the Pepin family. Mr Pepin was an amazing teacher and responsible for my deep love of live theater today. He was a Dracut treasure for sure and an indelible memory of my High School Class of 73.

My sincere condolences to the Pepin Family. Mr. Pepin will always be my most favorite teacher! He was an amazing person who's boundless energy, warm smile, and sincere love of music and the theatre will never be forgotten. He always inspired his students to be the best they could be. I was extremely fortunate to have had Maurice as my Theatre Arts teacher from 1980-1983, and also my teacher and director of DHS's "Ship's Log" which premiered on Dracut Local Access Television in 1983. He was a gentle, caring man, who spoke so lovingly of his children and wife, Diana. I remember how he proudly kept a beautiful portrait of her displayed on his office wall. He was a man of true character and those of us who were lucky enough to have known him are better off for it. I am sure his family and friends will celebrate the incredible life of the amazing man that was Mr. Pepin. May he rest in peace and be with God. Respectfully, Susan Anderson Catchpole, Nashua, NH, Dracut High School Class of 1983.

Words cannot express the love and gratitude I have and always will for my Uncle Maurice and Aunt Diana. They were there for me when I was in need, nurtured and loved me and my children, asking nothing in return .
I spent many summer fun vacations at their home on Coburn Ave. in Dracut.
The world will miss this unique, loving, kind and generous man.
Love you forever❤

Maurice's wife, Diana, is the older sister of my late husband, Gerald Supple.. From the time of my first introduction to them in their huge empty-nest house in Dracut to the visits back and forth between us both there, at our places in Virginia and in Florida, I was impressed with the wide-ranging interests and talents of Maurice. I fondly remember one visit to our house in Virginia when Maurice and I spent a productive hour or so replacing our kitchen faucet while Diana and Gerry, drinks in hand, rolled their eyes at the very idea that Maurice and I were having so much fun! Of course he will be missed, but he will be well remembered by many. My condolences to all.

A hugely gifted gentleman was my sister's husband. Maurice was more than a teacher. He was Music with a capital letter. Also he was a devoted family man, a quietly religious person, who loved a family party - especially a cookout on a summer's day. He led a long and productive life, and he will be remembered by all whose life he touched.
