LOWELL, MA -- Michael Kevin Schaufenbil, 53, of Lowell, MA, died August 2, 2017, at his home. Michael was born in Methuen on September 6, 1963, to the late Francis M. Schaufenbil and Gloria (Merri) Schaufenbil. Michael attended school in Lawrence, but his true passion was operating heavy equipment. 10 years ago, Michael accepted a job with Republic Service (a.k.a BFI) and drove an automated truck for the company.
Michael is survived by his fiancé, Renee Desrochers of Lowell, his daughter Taylor Rose of Holyoke, MA, his two step-children Courtney Ayotte and Nathan Newcomb of Lowell and his sister Karen Demers and husband John of Derry, NH. Michael was predeceased by his sister Kristin Schaufenbil of Lawrence, MA. Michael is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends.
SCHAUFENBIL -- Family and friends may call on Sunday, from 2:00-6:00 pm, at Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover 01845. A funeral service will be held on Monday, 11:00 am, also at the Conte Funeral Home. To leave online condolences, please visit www.contefuneralhomes.com.

We still talk and laugh about Big Mike at Republic Services Pretty much on a weekly basis. Just goes to show how much Mike was loved by everyone. Words can’t describe how much he is missed.

Rest well Mike, will miss our monthly calls. Will never forget the way you came thru when my daughter passed away, without hesitation you knew I needed a break and offered me your bike to get away from reality for a little while. One of kind, Republic Services will never be the same without you.

Mike was the son I never had. He treated me like a second mother. He loved my daughter Renee with all his heart and treated my grandchildren like his own.I am thankful for the time he was with us. I hope his daughter Taylor will always continue to be a part of our lives. He was our rock. There is a deep hole in our home. I love you Mike. You will never be forgotten. I know you will continue to watch over your family, and I know God is with you.

To the family of Mike, I pass on my condolences. Mike was a hell of a guy. I first met him some 25 plus years ago in a fine Lawrence establishment called Buckos. We did some pretty stupid things together and then we drifted apart. 10 years ago he walks into Republic Services and applies for a job. Small world, we did some riding together and again we did some pretty stupid things. He was tough SOB, and till the end I bet he gave the disease that took him a hell of a fight. Ride free Mike and rest easy ..your finally pain free.
